Festival "Other looks", S. Cugat (ESP)
15 April 2010

ESTAV,
University for Architecture at Sant Cugat / Barcelona (ESP) invited frei:flug to present a performance and hold a workshop for their students. The performance was part of the Fesitvals "Other looks". In a modern-archaic auditorium with huge marble steps we tried to breack up the stiff dimensions and create new, morbid directions and surprisig acoustic spaces.

Festival "Ankunft Neue Musik", Berlin Main station (D)
18 September 2009

At
Berlin main station we performed "durch/weg" at Ohrenstrandmobil which was created in collaboration with Ohrenstrand and Netzwerk Neue Musik.

At the main station there exists a space, where trains are only acoustically present. Here, people travel on foot, dragging their luggage, rushing for the next train. In the middle of random movements and sounds we define a space, follow the passing travellers trace and leave our own trails. We define, cross and dissolve our space in establishing an improvised dialogue between body and sound.

CV Paula Kramer (1977) ,dancer/researcher

focuses on improvised relationships between the human body in movement and the local site/environment. She is currently funded by the School of Art and Design of Coventry University for a three-year period of PhD research, during which she deepens her understanding of non-stylized movement in the natural environment. She is committed to practice-based research and works through performances and movement laboratories in outdoor locations,
as well as video-dance and photography.

Her work is fed by a diverse background in site-specific performance, awareness based improvisation, somatic practices and a postgraduate degree in political science. Her main teacher and mentor is Bettina Mainz (Amerta Movement and experimental dance). Paula has collaborated on several performances, including Wandlungsphasen (2009, Cap Á Pie) and Beneath the Warmth of a Smile (2007, out of the mu). Her exhibition escoltar el lloc – dem raum lauschen was shown in Berlin (2007), as well as in Granollers and Caregue, ES (2009).
